    Don't be a jerk!

The fundamental inspiration for what we ought to be doing comes from Rodney King, who uttered some memorable comments during a press conference on May 1, 1992, during which he was attempting to stop the violence and looting taking place in Los Angeles after the officers who beat him were acquitted of all charges:
Please, we can get along here. We all can get along. I mean, we're all stuck here for a while. Let's try to work it out
    See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rodney..._and_aftermath for more.

The Golden Rule is a more formal way of saying “you should have concern for, and be nice to, the people you live with.” The purpose of “niceness” in this context is to promote harmony and “teamwork” amongst the participants in any family, group, nation, or an entire civilization.

The short version of the Golden Rule is DON'T BE A JERK!

From the standpoint of this forum, we reserve the right to silence, kick, and/or completely ban anyone who acts like a jerk, in our sole and undisputable opinion. Just because you might pay us money you do not buy or otherwise obtain the right to be a jerk. Instead, you are buying a right to be nice to other people, and if you aren't nice, you won't continue to participate here.
